COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Triathlon today announced it will award a $36,750 prize purse for the 2025 USA Paratriathlon National Championships on Aug. 8-10 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The prize purse reinforces USA Triathlon’s commitment to providing equal opportunity and recognition for the sport’s elite paratriathletes.
For the first time, USA Paratriathlon National Championships will be held in conjunction with the USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic Distance National Championships, creating an inclusive, world-class racing environment in Milwaukee that unites triathletes of all abilities for an unforgettable weekend of racing.
Paratriathletes will race the Paratriathlon National Championships on Sunday, Aug. 10. Para national champions will earn $1,500 each, runners-up will receive $750, and third-place finishers will take home $375. Sighted guides competing alongside athletes with visual impairments will also receive equivalent prize money.
Additionally, USA Triathlon, in partnership with the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and The Way Forward Foundation, is offering travel grants to support athletes registered for Paratriathlon Nationals. The grants help offset expenses such as travel, lodging, and race entry fees. Applications are due by July 20, and recipients will be notified by July 31. Athletes already in a USA Triathlon-funded program are not eligible. Paratriathletes can apply for the grant here.
