WOLLONGONG, Australia — All eyes are on the next generation of U.S. Elite Triathlon stars at the 2025 World Triathlon U23 World Championships and Junior World Championships in Australia. U23 racing begins Thursday, Oct. 16 in Wollongong, Australia (Wednesday, Oct. 15 evening for U.S. viewers).

Leading the way for the U.S. U23s is Reese Vannerson, who earned silver at the 2024 World Triathlon Junior World Championships. The upstart triathlete comes to Wollongong hoping to cap a strong 2025 season that included his first World Cup win in Chengdu, China, and a string of Americas Cup wins. He also made his World Triathlon Championship Series debut in Hamburg.

Joining Vannerson on the men's start list are his U.S. teammates and Project Podium training partners, Braxton Legg, Sullivan Middaugh and Porter Middaugh.

The U.S. squad will face stiff competition for the podium from the likes of Oliver Conway (GBR), Marton Kropko (HUN), and Australian home favorite Bradley Course.

The U.S. U23 women will be represented by Naomi Ruff, Joy Gill, Britney Brown, Chelsea Webber, and Ellison Wolfe, who will battle Ilona Hadhoum (FRA), Zuzana Michalickova (SVK), and Richelle Hill (AUS) among the ones to watch in the women’s race.

The Junior World Championships are on Friday afternoon in Australia (Thursday evening for U.S. viewers).

Leading the U.S. Junior squad is Jimena Renata De La Peña Schott, who was the silver medalist at the 2023 World Junior Championships (while representing Mexico) and took this year’s Americas Junior title. She'll be joined by her U.S. teammates Ruth Pardy, Mia Wentzy and Marley Andelman

U.S. Juniors Blake Bullard, Isaac Lamprecht and Graham Hummel will race in the men's Junior World Championships.
