World-Renowned Triathlon and Cycling Coach Dan Lorang to Present at USA Triathlon’s Endurance Exchange in Orlando

World-renowned elite endurance coach and sports scientist Dan Lorang will serve as a featured speaker at Endurance Exchange, USA Triathlon’s premier annual industry conference bringing together coaches, race directors, clubs, athletes, media, and endurance leaders from across the country. Endurance Exchange is scheduled for Jan. 9-11 in Orlando, Florida, at the Caribe Royale Resort. Registration is open now.  

Lorang, widely regarded as one of the most accomplished triathlon and cycling coaches in the world, brings more than 20 years of experience coaching Olympic medalists, world champions, and top professionals in both cycling and triathlon. He coaches two-time U.S. Olympic medalist and three-time IRONMAN 70.3 world champion Taylor Knibb, and IRONMAN world champion Lucy Charles-Barclay of Great Britain. 

Lorang and Knibb will headline a panel discussion at Endurance Exchange on Friday, Jan. 9, “The Coach Athlete Relationship,” which examines the psychological and interpersonal dynamics that make coaching relationships successful. Also speaking on the panel are USA Triathlon Certified Coach Parker Spencer, who leads USA Triathlon’s elite development training group Project Podium, and Project Podium athlete Reese Vannerson. 

Lorang will also speak on Saturday,  Jan. 10. His session, “Leading High Performance Teams in Endurance Sports,” examines the evolution from individual coaching to collaborative team leadership, addressing the challenges of coordinating multidisciplinary experts including physiologists, nutritionists, sports psychologists, strength coaches, and medical professionals. Lorang will share his perspectives on how to build a team culture that enhances athlete performance while managing the interpersonal complexities inherent in high-stakes environments.

Lorang currently serves as Head of Endurance at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center (APC) and Performance Coach for the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Cycling Team, while also coaching elite triathletes from sprint distance to IRONMAN. 

Throughout his career, Lorang has played a significant role in the success of some of the world’s top endurance athletes. His coaching has contributed to more than 12 world championship titles across cycling, triathlon, and other endurance disciplines, as well as multiple Olympic medals. Prior to joining Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe, Lorang served as Head Coach of the German National Triathlon Team and as a sports scientist with Cervélo TestTeam.
