Age Group Team USA Wins 6 Medals at 2026 World Triathlon Winter Championships Padola

PADOLA, Italy – Eight Age Group Team USA athletes competed at the 2026 World Triathlon Winter Championships Padola, held Feb. 26–27 in Padola, Italy, with four U.S. athletes earning six medals across the Winter Triathlon and Winter Duathlon Championships. 

Patricia Horning won two gold medals in the women’s 35-39 age group, winning the title in the Winter Triathlon Championships, running, biking and cross-country skiing to a time of 1 hour, 49 minutes, 29 seconds. 

She followed that performance by winning gold in the Winter Duathlon Championships, running and cross-country skiing to a time of 1:35:42. 

Sheri Schrock, a veteran Age Group Team USA athlete, also took home two medals, earning silver in the women’s 70-74 age group in Winter Triathlon and Winter Duathlon. 

Stephen Eles earned silver in the open 45-49 competition in Winter Duathlon, recording the day’s second-fastest time among all age group competitors. 

Rounding out the medals for Age Group Team USA was Jen Barchers, who earned silver in the women’s 50-54 age group in Winter Duathlon. 

Age Group Team USA athletes qualify for World Triathlon World Championship events by racing at USA Triathlon National Championships.
