OMAHA, Neb. — The first full day of multisport racing at the 2025 USA Triathlon Multisport National Championships Festival Presented by Mutual of Omaha kicked off on Thursday, June 5, at Lake Cunningham in Omaha, Nebraska. Age group athletes competed in the Aquabike National Championships (swim-bike) and the Super-Sprint Triathlon (swim-bike-run) and Super-Sprint Duathlon (run-bike-run) Time Trial National Championships.
The five-day event, which started on Wednesday with an open water swim competition, celebrates multisport’s diverse group of race formats featuring different combinations of swimming, biking and running. Athletes from all 50 states across the U.S. traveled to Omaha to compete for age group national titles in the following National Championships:
• Draft-legal Triathlon National Championships
• Duathlon (run-bike-run) National Championships (standard and draft-legal sprint distances)
• Aquathlon (run-swim-run) National Championships
• Aquabike (swim-bike) National Championships (standard distance)
• Super Sprint Triathlon Time Trial National Championships
• Super Sprint Duathlon Time Trial National Championships
• Mixed Relay Triathlon & Duathlon National Championships
Thursday’s racing action began with the Aquabike National Championships, as swim-bike specialists raced a 1,500-meter swim in Lake Cunningham and 40-kilometer bike on the roads surrounding the lake.
Stephanie Oechsner (St. Peters, Mo.) defended her 2023 and 2024 Aquabike National Championships title, powering on the bike to win her third consecutive national title with a time of 1 hour, 32 minutes, 29 seconds. She averaged 22.41 miles per hour on the bike.
