The new Multisport National Championships Festival encompasses six of USA Triathlon’s National Championship events, bringing to Irving the nation’s best multisport athletes who will compete for age group national titles in the following National Championships:
• Draft-legal Triathlon National Championships
• Duathlon (run-bike-run) National Championships (standard and draft-legal sprint distances)
• Aquathlon (run-swim-run) National Championships
• Aquabike (swim-bike) National Championships (standard distance)

• Age Group Mixed Relay National Championships
Athletes ages 14 to 86 from 45 states and Washington, D.C., will compete in Irving at Levy Event Plaza, which opened in 2020 along Lake Carolyn as a dedicated outdoor hub for Irving community events. In addition to racing for age group national championships, athletes will also have the opportunity to qualify to represent age group Team USA at 2023 World Triathlon Age Group World Championships. For more information about Team USA, comprised of the nation’s top amateur multisport athletes who represent the U.S. at World Triathlon Age Group World Championship events, visit usatriathlon.org/teamusa.
With the opportunity to race multiple events over the four-day span, more than 50 athletes will attempt to race five or more events for the chance to earn the title of “Multisport Master.” Athletes crowned as Multisport Master will receive a special belt buckle and be honored at the final Awards Ceremony on Sunday evening.

TOGETHER WE THRIVE: SPORT IS A HUMAN RIGHT CAMPAIGN
In Irving this weekend, USA Triathlon will continue its education and impact campaign, “Together We Thrive: Sport is a Human Right,” as part of USA Triathlon’s overarching “Together We Thrive” initiative, which was launched in summer 2020 to combat discrimination, challenge inequalities and champion social justice in the multisport community and throughout the endurance sports industry.
USA Triathlon is committed to taking the following actions in support of the transgender community — in an effort to create both short- and long-term impact not only in Texas, but also nationwide across all areas of multisport:
• Visible Sport is a Human Right awareness and education campaign onsite in Irving
• Activating the wider multisport community to drive change in our sport through ongoing proactive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access education
• Continuing the development of a long-term Together We Thrive: Sport is a Human Right program for coaches, clubs and race directors across the country that provides them with resources, tools and recognition to help build a future for the sport that all people can see themselves being a part of.
• This includes: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access best practices; tips for raising awareness and fostering impactful conversations; explanation of transgender terminology and pronouns; SafeSport and anti-bullying resources; guide to creating a trans-inclusive club, event or coaching practice; tips for engaging all youth athletes while navigating this legislation; a pledge program for coaches, clubs and race directors to commit to inclusive practices, and public recognition for coaches, clubs and race directors that openly welcome ALL athletes.
