Hagg Lake, Oregon, To Host USA Triathlon Cross National Championships and Inaugural Youth Cross Nationals on July 12-13

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Athletes will head to Hagg Lake, Oregon, on July 12-13, for the 2025 USA Triathlon Cross National Championships and USA Triathlon Youth Cross National Championships. Hosted in partnership with Why Racing Events and the Hagg Lake Triathlon and Trail Festival, this family-friendly weekend promises a vibrant race atmosphere, community engagement, and high-quality race production. 

USA Triathlon partners with trusted local USA Triathlon Race Directors such as Why Racing Events to host USA Triathlon National Championships, which offer athletes the opportunity to compete for national titles against the top multisport athletes in the country and qualify to represent Team USA at World Triathlon Age Group World Championships.   

Racers at Cross Nationals will tackle mountain bike trails and steep climbs that wind through the lush, rugged landscapes surrounding Hagg Lake. Championship races include the Cross Triathlon (750-meter swim, 22-kilometer bike, 5k trail run) and the Cross Duathlon (5k trail run, 22k gravel bike, 5k trail run).  

Athletes racing will have the opportunity to qualify for 2026 Age Group Team USA and the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport World Championships Abu Dhabi. You can find more information on Age Group Team USA qualification standards here.

The inaugural Youth Cross Triathlon National Championships offers youth multisport athletes of all abilities the chance to compete in cross triathlon on a national stage. Mountain bike racing has been an increasing interest among middle and high school athletes, with an estimated 35,000 youth athletes participating in mountain-biking leagues across the country.  

USA Triathlon Youth and Junior Cross National Championships provides an exciting bridge between mountain bike riding and multisport racing, representing a tremendous opportunity to grow and diversify the sport of triathlon.

Athletes can also race in non-championship events at the Hagg Lake Triathlon and Trail Festival, including paddle triathlon, aquabike, duathlon and more. You can view the full list of races here.
