Grants and Programs#

USA Triathlon is pleased to offer several different opportunities for race directors to get involved with new programming, funding opportunities, and partner discounts. Many programs are available at little or no cost to race organizations and can be a great way to save some money or become more involved with USA Triathlon.

USA Triathlon's marketing and support partners are pleased to provide a variety of opportunities that allow race directors to save money, raise the production value of sanctioned events and utilize partner products. Access to these sponsor and partner opportunities is limited to USA Triathlon sanctioned events and is password-protected for current sanctioning race director with a current USAT annual membership. Each year, USA Triathlon accepts applications for state and national championships. Events are fully produced by the race organization with direct support from the national office. Disciplines include: state age group and high school championships for sprint and Olympic distances, off-road triathlon, winter triathlon, gravel triathlon, full distance, and Military and First Responder Nationals.

As an Emerging Sport for Women, triathlon embarks on the journey to become a full-fledged NCAA Championship Sport, allowing female triathletes the opportunity to be official NCAA student-athletes and participate in competitive draft-legal racing. The Splash and Dash Youth Aquathlon Series is a great way to get kids involved in multisport. This series, with over 60 events annually nationwide, provides shirts, finisher medals, goody bag items, and participation-based stipends for events accepted into the series. Accepted events have a goal of attracting at least 100 participants each. Applications are accepted beginning in mid-October for events in the following year. Time to Tri is an unprecedented initiative within the triathlon industry to grow the sport by proactively recruiting and supporting athletes as they train for and compete in their first race. The initiative, a strategic joint effort between USA Triathlon and IRONMAN, was unveiled in early 2018.
