COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Six U.S. Elite Triathletes will line up this Sunday, Sept. 14, at the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Series Karlovy Vary, aiming to extend Team USA’s recent run of success at one of the circuit’s most iconic and challenging stops in the Czech Republic.

The U.S. has claimed the last two men’s titles in Karlovy Vary: Olympian Morgan Pearson (New Vernon, N.J.) won in 2023, and upstart John Reed (Virginia Beach, Va.) captured the crown in 2024. On the women’s side, Gina Sereno (Madison, Wis.) earned a bronze medal here in 2024 and returns seeking another podium finish.

They are joined by a strong U.S. squad that also includes veteran and podium contender Taylor Spivey (Redondo Beach, Calif.), her Paris 2024 Olympic Mixed Relay Team member Seth Rider (Germantown, Tenn.), and up-and-comer Chase McQueen (Columbus, Ind.).

ABOUT THE COURSE

Karlovy Vary is one of the toughest Olympic-distance races on the WTCS calendar. Athletes begin with a 1.5-kilometer swim in Rolava Lake before taking on a grueling 40-kilometer bike course that features steep climbs, cobblestoned streets, and technical descents through the historic city center. The race concludes with a 10-kilometer run winding through the spa town’s hilly terrain.
