At January’s Endurance Exchange conference, the USA Triathlon Race Director Committee (RDC) announced the launch of Regional Networking Meetings for USA Triathlon Certified Race Directors. The purpose of these virtual regional meetings is to create a forum for RDs to network, learn and share best practices with one another.

Regional Networking Meetings will be hosted by a USAT Certified Race Director and conducted over Zoom. The host will initiate each meeting with a brief discussion of any recent USAT news impacting RDs and then open up discussion to attending RDs to drive the conversation for most of the meeting. This is your opportunity to ask questions, seek advice, learn about resources and more from other USAT Certified RDs.

This program is being piloted with five Regional Networking Meetings initially, but the goal is to expand to additional meeting groups to help RDs better connect with one another on a grassroots level. RDs are encouraged to attend the meeting closest to them geographically but have the option to attend the Networking Group meeting of their choice. Here are the areas and leaders for the initial five meetings:

NORTHEAST Regional Networking Meeting: Led by Mark Walter, Sun Multisport Events

SOUTHEAST Regional Networking Meeting: Led by Joe Fleenor, Above the Fold Events / Team Magic
WEST Regional Networking Meeting: Led by Carrie Panek, Koz Events
MID-ATLANTIC Regional Networking Meeting: Led by Eric Opdyke, Rev3, and Jason Chance, TCR Event Management
